Two of this season's foals. Tess (part Arab) on the left and Freddie (pure Arab) on the right

Lazy T Quintessa
(Tess)

Tess is a 3rd generation family bred and orphaned after her dam passed away. In over 40 years of breeding, this was the first foal bottle raised. Considering how potentially obnoxious orphans can be, we definitely lucked out with Tess. She is an absolute delight to have around; so soft and gentle natured. She has been very easy to train and handle from day 1. Looking forward to our future together.

Lazy T Heyy Mister (Freddie)

Freddie is by a long-admired, very successful endurance stallion (since been exported UAE) that I’ve  wanted to use for a number years…I just needed the right mare. By chance I had just decided to retire my favourite ridden mare, Evie. She’d be perfect. After an eventful pregnancy and tough birth, Freddie was earthside and just perfect. Exactly as I had envisioned! Just a week after birth it was evident that Evie’s milk was drying up (reason still unknown). Vet intervention didn’t make any difference, so I started supplementing Freddie. She did her best by her beautiful son but heath niggles wore her down until I decided to separate them and continue raising him myself (what’s one more orphan!) with the assistance of Tess and the minis to mould him into an upstanding citizen. Neither Evie nor Freddie have looked back and are doing so much better for being separated. We’re still investigating what went wrong with a Evie.
